I just returned from 8 days in Peru and it was one of my favourite trips in recent memory. I hiked more than 150kms through 9 microclimates ranging from the glaciers and lakes of the Andes to the Amazonian jungle, and the diversity and authenticity of the nature, culture, and history of the country took my breath away in every location. My travel partner and myself at Abra Salkantay, the Milky Way as seen from our Sky Camp at Soraypampa, and Rainbow Mountain. We spent the vast majority of our time in the hands of a fantastic tour company, Salkantay Trekking which was truly one of the best tour operators I have worked with anywhere in the world and their commitment to supporting local communities and educating tourists on the history, culture and ecology of Peru is something you should be very grateful for.

I look forward to returning to Peru again to explore Lima and some of the coastal towns – Hopefully soon!
